"One True Vine"

I rediscovered this album I won from RTRFM some time ago;

Clean up at soon moving Maylands Potters House.....

....covers some art ( a mural done by Pastor Leonell and myself);

and reveals other. A "fruit of the spirit" inspired artwork by Sunday School children;

In the early eighties I went Sunday School at St Paul's in Harris Park. I dug up some inspiration from this area. Rosella Park nearby, where my brother and I enjoyed skateboarding, takes its name from the locally named parakeet.

The True Vine

The parable of Jesus being the true vine is the subject of this work. Delivered in John 15, after the Last Supper, the form of a bowl and cup is unintentional but perhaps appropriate. With Jesus as the vine we cannot separate our conduct from him. Bearing the best fruit is the goal of an artist. 
We need to beware those vines not true.

Peace is one of the fruits of the spirit.
